Fact-Checking Policy

Sourcing standard

Every factual claim on a published page should be traceable to a source listed in that page's Sources section. We prioritize primary sources — government publications, peer-reviewed research, official documentation, and original filings — over secondary summaries when both are available.

What we reject automatically

Our quality-control pipeline (see scripts/quality_audit.py) flags and blocks publication of content that:

• States an answer that does not directly address the question asked
• Contains a statistic, quote, or citation that cannot be matched to a real source
• Omits sources entirely on a factual claim
• Substantially duplicates another page already in the library
• Discusses medical, legal, financial, or cybersecurity actions without the relevant disclaimer

Human review

Pages in sensitive categories require a named reviewer to move from needs-review to approved. Reviewer names and review dates are shown on the published page.

Ongoing accuracy

Content is periodically flagged as outdated and queued for refresh — either on a schedule (see scripts/refresh_outdated.py) or when a reader reports an issue via our contact page.
